Gemcitabine plus vinorelbine chemotherapy in locally advanced and/or metastatic breast cancer. The aim of this study was to evaluate the activity and safety of gemcitabine plus vinorelbine as first-line chemotherapy in patients with locally advanced and/or metastatic breast cancer. The primary end-point was overall response rate (ORR). The secondary end-points were time to progression (TTP), clinical benefit rate (CBR), and safety. Forty patients were enrolled in the study. Eleven out of 40 (27.5%) had a partial response and 21 out of 40 (52.5%) had stable disease. The median duration of response was 6 months. The median TTP was 7 months and median overall survival time was 15 months. The most common grade 3/4 toxicities were neutropenia (40%), leukopenia (15%), and thrombocytopenia (5%). The combination of gemcitabine plus vinorelbine is a feasible and well-tolerated regimen with an acceptable safety profile and encouraging activity.Parents of children with autism often feel that the social behavior of their kids is more problematic than their social skills.
